Fusionex Supports PIKOM Leadership Summit 2018 to Uplift National ICT Industry

Petaling Jaya, 14 November 2018 – Fusionex, as the main partner of the PIKOM Leadership Summit 2018 hosted by the National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), rendered its support to the Summit which brought together C-Level executives, policy makers, and IT professionals for thought-provoking and in-depth discussions on the latest technologies that will shape the future of business.

Reprising his role for the second year running, Fusionex Founder and Group CEO Dato’ Seri Ivan Teh was once again organizing chair for this year’s Summit.

“Our industry changes rapidly and is an exciting industry to be in. It’s one that is constantly evolving and innovating,” Teh said during a keynote speech. “To excel and thrive, we have to stay ahead of the curve. We hope the sessions at this event provide meaningful and constructive insights.”

This year’s event, which saw ICT industry leaders gathered under one roof, was launched by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo. Also present at the Summit was PIKOM Chair Ganesh Kumar Bangah and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) CEO Datuk Yasmin Mahmood.

We were also honored by World Information Technology Service Alliance (WITSA) Chairman Yvonne Chiu from Taiwan who graced this event with her presence.

The theme for this year’s Summit was “Embark on the Digital Revolution”. It reflects a call for ICT industry players to be prepared to make changes as businesses today may become obsolete in the near future due to the emergence of disruptive technology. In the short term, the World Economic Forum estimates that 5 million jobs will be lost by 2020. Oxford University states that in 25 years, 47% of current jobs will be rendered obsolete.

This Summit inspired conversations and provoked the brainstorming of new ideas, solutions and approaches to the way things are done. In addition, many topics were discussed at length such as Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0, Blockchain, Cyber Security and other similar ones shaping the world we live in.

Among some of the key presenters during the event were director of the economic division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, David Hsu, as well as leaders from ICP Das, Hiwin Singapore, Advantech, and Dimension Data.
